Failure to Success

Aloha Everybody!!! I'm back!!!

Failure is not a hindrance to success, instead, you can take it as a lesson and be successful out of it. These entrepreneurs are living proof of that. For today's blog let me share their stories, from failure to success.

1. WALT DISNEY

Disney was born in Chicago in 1901 and began his career as an artist at a young age. He enlisted in the Red Cross at the age of 16 and drove an ambulance that he decorated with his own cartoon drawings during World War I. He returned to Kansas City, Missouri, and worked as an advertisement cartoonist. The legendary animator, film producer, and theme park developer had quite a bumpy road to success. Disney was, at one point, living on dog food and unable to pay his rent. His first animation company, Laugh-O-Gram Studio, went bankrupt.  He achieved a breakthrough with the creation of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, only to lose the legal rights to the cartoon rabbit and see most of his fellow animators leave the studio. It was a big setback. However, Disney decided to create another character and start over. Soon after, Disney and Ub Iwerks created Mickey Mouse, who went on to become the most recognizable cartoon character in film history and later served as a cornerstone for the Walt Disney entertainment empire.

2. J.K ROWLING

Joanne Rowling CH OBE FRSL, better known by her pen name J. K. Rowling, is a British author and philanthropist. She wrote Harry Potter, a seven-volume fantasy series published from 1997 to 2007. While writing the first Harry Potter book, J.K. Rowling was a single mother receiving welfare benefits. However, she overcame her situation by not only completing the book, but also finding someone to publish it. The person who selected her book for publication did so because her daughter fell in love with the story. Rowling never forgot her humble origins. When asked why she didn’t establish citizenship in a place where she could find shelter from paying taxes, she responded that she was happy to pay taxes into a system that supported her when she needed it most. Rather than remain discouraged by the dozen rejections she initially received from publishers, Rowling persevered and went on to publish one of the most beloved and successful series in the history of children’s literature.

*Side Comment :)

Indeed failure is not a hindrance if you are loyal to your dream. Before becoming successful countless struggles and failures will come at you. But if you have the courage to fight and keep chasing your dream then the time will come that it will be your turn. This is my biggest lesson as I take this journey. This is all for my blog this week, see you on my next one :)
